Biography

Federico Melli is a researcher at the University of Parma and conducts research in photonics and optical engineering. His work focuses on the design, modelling and analysis of hollow-core optical fibers — including studies of mode coupling and loss mechanisms in hollow-core inhibited-coupling fibers — and their applications in sensing and photonic technologies.

He obtained his PhD in Information and Communication Technology at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia in 2022. He has received her bachelor in Ingegneria Elettronica and Master in Electronics Engineering from University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, Italy in 2016 and 2019 respectively.
